Start Earth Day posts… NOW

Yeah, I know it’s not Earth Day today, but it should be, becaue I’m going to be recycling a bunch of items that most of you have probably already seen. First up, this hilarious Skate Hipster Bingo card that I saw on Gone in an Instant, but everyone else and their mother saw on on Sleestak, as you can tell by the watermark. And nobody seems to be crediting the creator, which was Excess skate zine, although you’d be hard pressed to tell by looking at the Excess blog. I think there is actually more pictures of road bikes on that site than skateboarding. What’s up with the crossover? I heard something about fixies on one of Colin’s recent radio shows. The Kyle Bunker episode is a good one. Getting back to hipsters, I picked up a copy of Thrasher in the airport on my recent trip to Florida. It’s pretty much the only time I read the mainstream mags. it seemed like a third of the dudes in there were sporting mustaches or beards. I’m rocking a bad stache myself lately. It started as a goof but the reaction has been so enthusiastic (and not always positive) that I can’t bring myself to shave it. I’d count myself as hip too, if I weren’t the last person on the internet to post this hipster skate bingo card.

  1. Why isn’t skate blog on the card?

it falls under the “skate art” and “shitty zine” categories.

this has gotta be the beastiest bingo card I’ve seen.

  3. It’s missing a square called “Portland.”

that square would be the big square that contains the other 25 squares. (except o’dell)

  4. The cross over between bikes and skating is that I have been riding/racing road bikes for my collegiate team a hell of alot more than skating as of late. When I do skate I rarely ever bring the camera out to document things. There will be zines again in the future, I’ve just separated myself from documenting it on paper or the interwebs for now.

Thanks for posting this one up and giving credit.

  5. Now if that was a tshirt it might have more than one use, other than a rag…? I guess you would need to have a bunch of tshirts for da goons to play,, dough! board game tshirt out in 5 months by someone g-nar-un-teed!
