Ben Warren sent this pic of a ramp he built FOR FREE from donated and discarded materials:
The ramp is built out of wood that is anywhere from 15 years old to pretty new but it was all free! Thanks to the Dew Tour, Mesh Skatepark in Longwood Florida and some local donations! Im stoaked and i want to spread the word that if you just take some time and initiative, anybody can build something to skate with no cash!! Hell Yes!!!
So thanks to Ben, and hopefully this will stoke some of you out there to do a little scrounging and build something. Which reminds me of another successful scrounge (and I mean that in the best possible way…) from Florida, Tim Kulas. Ben’s ramp is in Casselberry, Florida. He sent me a link (www.hereforkicks.com) but it appears to be dead. Don’t forget about Enlarge-o- rama.

The last recorded person to use the term “money” when describing a person, thing, or situation was Vince Vaughn in the movie “Swingers” c.2002. You have now broken the 7 year hiatus. Thanks?

Free ramps kick ass! I was given a free 4′x16′ mini ramp. The skatelite is probably about 15 years old too. I call it the Frank-n-ramp because it has so many piece mealed scraps. Somehow it still rides well. I didn’t even have to buy screws.

Sweet! That reminds me about the screws. I spent 2 hours on my hands and knees with my buddy Dave at the Orlando Surf Expo picking up the screws that were going to be thrown away from the mini ramp contest!

I was wondering about paying for the screws. So it’s 100% free, that’s awesome. I fixed the link too. It’s like Jackass meets Skatopia over there.

Yeah the only thing i did have to buy was drill bits and a saw blade. But thats not bad at all!
