What they lack in market share, RealPlayer is willing to make up for in nostalgia by being on top of what was popular on the internet about two years ago. They’re still doing skateboarding dogs.

    To be entirely fair, “popular two years ago” would be a huge step up for RealPlayer.

    Real Player has always been the buttox of music and video players. Particularly invasive software install.

    They DID have a thing back in the day. Their tech allowed for small file sizes… and allowed folks to download full length shows and movies, otherwise prohibitive with dialup internet.

    Was shortlived though. Now it’s just one of those things that should go away but keeps hangin’ in for no good reason.
