Poweredge Magazine: It’s Alive!
Poweredge Magazine is hitting the streets again. The first new issue is scheduled to come out in August. It’s a gutsy move when other mags are getting thinner or moving to online-only presences. Hopefully there is room for another. I was a fan of Poweredge back in the day, even when I considered Thrasher the best, it was nice to have a different voices out there. Check out the covers, the last one from 1991 above left, and the new 2009 one is on the right. It would have been cool if they had Todd Congelliere reprise his cover shot for the new volume. UPDATE: I guess that’s not Todd on the old cover. I assumed it was because his interview has the biggest headline. The guy on the new cover? Dayne Brummet.

. . .pardon my drivels, i was distracted by the recent comments box momentarily, i am a shiddy poet as well as an amateur sociolinguist who finds endless fascinations w/ the myriad variation inwhich language is used, especially when written, outside of our usual FTF innerfaces, um, I haven’t been online in quite some time, back when I was more active, this was my favorite enterprise: extralong rambling comments, often beyond the pale, I guess its the feeling of actually having a voice? so as of late gazing googy w/ allthem skatemag pages, & i recently got P.E. #4 — – i consider it, just by seeing this one issue, as straight heavyweight, pure content cover to cover, plus old dude fotos bylikes of Ron Allen Ray Barbee & Serge!
not many ads, which could be a cause for concern, i hope they keep it up & build uppa fanblock so they can get paid, printmedia is quite pricey — also, the product reviews are very good & comprehensive inna way which could cause heckling from certain reactionary anarchic types, but props to them for being unashamedly geek’d fastidious…
…right now, i am going to go getta sub, only $15 & they need support, especially crucial during initial startup year…as well, i am going to let them know how stoked i am in writing, let them know how appreciated they are, yet also warn them to please don’t fuck it up. . .
…refresh my mems. . . wasn’t it the oldschool poweredge who published like a 3pg. spread of all the skatezines known at the time, complete with full addy’s & shit. . .was that them?. . .didn’t they get harsh’d on quite severely for that?
