Skateboarding and religion not mutually exclusive

Radical monks

Funny how often skateboard is used as shorthand for culture clash. Why don’t we ever see a headline like Skateboarder wears a top hat and monocle to get radical?

That is awesome. Buddhists are rad.

  2. sane says:

As long as they don’t use levitation at a high ollie contest I guess its cool.

  3. michael says:

I usually beleive in the seperation of church and skate(I refuse to go to the roseburg skate church) but I dont have a problem with tibetan buddists getting their shred on. Ive heard the dalai lama has a mean switch tre flip.

  4. Ryan Heckler says:

whats wrong with the Church of Skatin michael, can’t handle the truth??

  5. jake"fatman"ferranti says:

the actual church of skatan/shorty’s in santa barbara is pretty fun. Mini ramp w/”couch extension” was the shit. im catholic but aint down w/pay to play or pray to play-2 conditions you should never put on skateboarding. fart fart

  6. Ryan Heckler says:

maybe my church of skatin isn’t a physical place so much as a state of mind?

  7. jake"fatman"ferranti says:

ah-so, then by all means, praise the board.
if you are ever in downtown santa barbara, the physical COS is worth checking out and they are pretty hospitable. the skatepark is also rad and right down the street, on the beachfront.

  8. curtis says:

Buddhists don’t levitate, but if any skater can levitate more power to them. levitation is within the bounds of (proper) skateboarding, just don’t be levitating with bindings.

  9. michael says:

dah I guess skating is my religion. I just dont like going to the actual Roseburg skate church where they want you to stop skating to watch some video about some loser, drug addict, alcoholic, lawyer that was going to die until he accepted jeebus into his life.

  10. michael says:

no offense to anyone who is a loser, drug addict or an alcoholic. If your a lawyer suck it up.

  11. michael says:

hmm santa barbara would be nice. a little socal adventure would be nice as well. It looks like I have the time just not the money.

  12. caroline says:

im confused. what is skatan? is it a christian church that skateboards on sundays? is it a satan worshiping place? please someone clear this up for me cuz my cousin is one and i dont know if i should be worried or not.
