Hope you can do a post on what you find out there. I'm going out to Chicagoland (elgin) in September. My mother-in-law told me about a call for voulnteers to "assemble" the new Elgin park. I'm stoked already.

You should venture just east to Whiting. They have an interesting little park with 2 gigantic concrete holes. One hole is big, deep, smooth and fast... the other is lumpy, poorly designed and was poured by complete amateurs. Take your gnar. A bit north and on the coast is Wilson Ave park. Definitely worth a session if ya have time. Don't waste your time at the one near(just a block or so south from) the McCormack center. It really sucks.
