Piece of cake

If you think Tony Hawk has the market cornered on skateboarding birthday paraphernalia, well, he does. but there’s always room at the top… of the cake. Har, har. Shoot me.
Here’s the old half pipe cake kit from an outfit called Sugarcraft. Skateboard DecoSet includes figure on skateboard, SK8 park logo, sign, tool and Instructions $20.00. It looks like that tool might be real, or at least life sized and crappy.

These guys also offer this set of cake toppers which will run you five bucks. Looks like those figures are blatantly copied inspired by Hot Wheels Skate Freaks.

Then there’s the Extreme Sports Kids Cake Kit which is a medley of action figures, including one on a skateboard if you look closely, and some Extreme!™ sprinkles and Extreme!™ trees.

I don’t know where this one came from, but they took the literal route.

This was my son’s birthday cake that my wife and I made for his 2nd birthday. Yes, I helped make the cake. We spent about $12 on Tech Dudes and plastic keychain skateboards. Yes, we made him wear that ridiculous outfit, because his grandmother bought it for him.

So it’s just a flat pan cake in two layers. We cut the transitions with a bread knife. It took about 10 minutes to decorate. Click to enlarge.

Troy Sliter sent me these pics of a skateboard piƱata at his sons birthday in 2004.

What? No Tony Hawk “Loop” cake? No Maga ramp cake??? Where is your sence of adventure?
Just kidding. Owen’s cake rocks! Looks like a lot of fun!

The best, albeit simplest one, is the flat sheet cake with the Scooterist on it! My two favorite things on one cake Vintage Scooters and Skateboards!
