MC Road Trip with H.O.M.O.S.
June 20th, 2008 by Kilwag
Mark Conahan, Rich Burton, Shawn Reinert and a few others are road tripping down to San Jose as you read this. Mark is making progress reports via cellphone snaps on Antigrav Remote. UPDATE: “Too far, too hot.” Supposedly it hit 100° yesterday. MC and Rich are hitting the Oregon Coast parks instead. A couple other guys are still going to San Jose.

Has anyone done that ten foot vertical drop in San Jose?

Fendick tells me we should have stuck to the original plan but I was happy to spend another day at Matt’s and I enjoyed finally skating the southern Oregon parks. Eight new parks for me so far this trip. Skated with plenty of rippers, Matt, Larry, Tyler, Steev, Tyler, Zach. Even got to skate the bowl with Troy and Shawn.
You can do that drop at Medford if you need a stunt. San Jose probably has everything we skated so far except the Brookings launch. We’ll get down there eventually - something to look forward to.

Sessioned with part of the OR crew yesterday at SJ. Sorry to have missed you Mark. Temp was not as hot as Fri/Sat. Good to see old friends again. I believe they’re off to check out SV and SC today.

Larry, I had seen that on cab’s blog, the shots of him standing up there were crazy… the mega ramp crew may do it if it starts getting publicity, I hope some 13 year old pulls it off first! lol!

Kvon, I am sure somebody like Morris Kyle or Bennet Hirada will do it before the mega ramp guys come, we have some ripping locals too, I am not one of them.

The design taunts a drop in from the tip top and a death defying ollie into the transition to the right …. I would love to photograph something like that! How did they build this evil beast?

Skatebroke, are you talking about the Portrero Hill park? June 28th?

Before you go to Lake Cunningham, just make sure to check their site for the hours and when the bike sessions are. It’s a great park but the hours are lame because they don’t open until 11am on weekdays when it’s ridiculously hot. Often when you show up, there’s crap in the bowls to sweep out since most of the people who work there are useless.
