SOTW 5-5-08: Eric Dressen in 1977
May 6th, 2008 by Kilwag
This week’s Shot of the Week comes from the archives of our own Mark Conahan:
We were at a permission pool in Montebello, California. I drove. Eric (Dressen) used to hang out with us before he was discovered by Tony Alva.

Yep, same pool. I think I skated it maybe two or three times. Eric was about six years old at the time.

I had one of those with powerflex 5s… not the easiest deck to climb walls with for sure!!

6 years old?! rad, how tall was the pool?

I remember it seeming big at the time but that was thirty-plus years ago. Eight maybe? Here’s another shot of me about to hang up you can see how much vert there was. Different fence on the other side of the yard, same board, knee pads and shoes though.

The old volleyball soft knee pads. Useless. Awesome!

the wall in the backround even looks skate-able.

Epic, Conahan. I couldn’t hang with that even on a modern set-up. Is that a pack of smokes up your left sleeve or a shoulder pad?
