Waitress in the sky..
April 5th, 2008 by Kilwag
Flying out to Florida to meet my family.
Visiting the in-laws on the red-eye is such a chore.
Opening the inflight mag and what do I see?
World Industries makes water toys. Well, so much for “core.”
Man am I funny. Seriously though, several months ago when World was sold, there was an article in Transworld Biz quoting how World Industries was going to try to recapture part of the “core” skateboarding market that they lost with all the little kids crap. The same catalog also had World Industries wake boards, but that’s not even in the same ballpark as a glorified innertube.

Hey Kilwag, So is World industries still owned by Dwindle Distribution?

I don’t think Dwindle was part of the deal, so, no. I can’t find it on TWS biz anywhere. I don’t think they are putting their articles online anymore, strange because it was a free publication. PAid for by ads I guess. They seem to have removed a bunch of more recent articles as well. I did find this link talking about the sale. WI isn’t on the Dwindle web site either.

Those improved inner tubes are a lot of fun!

They’re going after the “core” tubing market. I thought they were only going to sell them in the “core” tubing shops, though?

World is so CORE with their Iron Maiden font! That’s some pretty radical typesetting, yo!
